Outpatient Services

In May 2022 the Behavioral Health Outpatient program received an additional three year national accreditation from CARF (Certification and Accreditation of Rehab Facilities). This accreditation requires an agency to meet national standards of service in behavioral health for children and youth.

The outpatient service programs provide  an array of services to individuals and families These consist of Community at Risk Services (CARS), outpatient counseling with specializes modalities of treatment including: Play therapy, Filial Play Therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The outpatient program provides services to children and families throughout Western Oklahoma.

Prevention Services

Botvin Life Skills Training                                                                                              

Botvin Life Skills Training is available to Elementary, Middle School, and High School Students.   This program promotes healthy alternatives to risky behaviors by promoting activities to boost self-esteem and confidence, provide coping skills, education on immediate consequences of substance use, drinking and smoking, provide a variety of prevention topics to decrease health risk behaviors, and skills necessary for resisting social pressures.                                                                                                                            

Custer County Graduated Sanctions                                                                     

The Custer County Graduated Sanctions program works with community partners to provide intervention services for youth.  It is aimed at deterring youth from further entering into the juvenile system.  It consists of a multi-faceted community panel which helps develop a tiered continuum of interventions to positively impact the youths behaviors.  The continuum of sanctions include immediate and intermediate interventions to improve accountability and risk control.

It’s My Life/First Time Offender Program-FTOP

FTOP is designed for youth who have been involved in a first-time law offense or is experiencing school and/or familial issues. Youth are referred to the program by the Juvenile Services Unit, parents, schools, municipal courts etc. The First Time Offender Program curriculum, It’s My Life, was designed to teach and/or enhance a variety of skills that will not only minimize the likelihood of youthful re-offending; but most importantly, will improve the likelihood that the participants will make better life choices, experience healthier family dynamics, and an improved sense of self-competency.  Since family members play a key role in the lives of youth referred to the program, at least one parent/legal guardian or alternate parenting-adult is required to attend all sessions with the referred youth. The youth and their parent are involved in skill development classes that emphasize communication, anger management, problem solving, decision-making that are targeted at meeting the youths’ current needs.

Parent Assistance Services-(PAS)

Parenting Assistance Services is a parent education to program that is designed to provide services for families and children which are at risk for and/ or involved with the Department of Human Services-Child Welfare.   Services are provided in a group setting with topics including child development, disciple methods, nutrition and family budgeting etc.  

School Based Prevention                                                                                             

School Based Prevention services are available to all grades within MCYFS service area.  The services are provided to increase education, relationship building, health and well being and college/career vocational preparation.

Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE)

The program focuses on educating youth on the health advantages of delaying sexual activity by empowering them to make the healthy choices, in order to reduce unwanted consequences.


Community Development

Multi-County Youth and Family Services staff members presented information and training to numerous school groups and civic groups during the year. Many of the staff members serve on different area boards that serve families and children.
